Hey backers!
Thanks for your patience regarding this week’s update! There’s not a whole lot of new things to share as most things are still being prepped for production, in production, or on its way to us.
Production Updates
Conditions, Townsfolk and Illusions: Most recently we expected them to be in our warehouse in August, but we’ve just been informed by the manufacturers that they won’t begin shipping to us until mid-August. We’ll provide a more detailed estimate once the decks have shipped on when we can expect them in our warehouse and when backers can expect them in their mailboxes!
Tarot Book: The editing is complete! The book is now in the final design stages. We can't wait to show it to you!

Production Updates + New FAQ

Hey backers!
Here’s where we’re at regarding production! If there isn’t an update on certain items or we haven’t provided a definitive ship date, it's because we don’t currently have one. We’re updating with the most recent and most accurate information we have and will continue to do so to keep everyone in the loop!
Tarot
The entire deck has been distributed digitally! You can access them through your BackerKit account under Digital Downloads.
Some of you have noticed the size and the backs are different between the major and minor arcana--good eye! The original major arcana files were a work in progress and now that the animations are done for the entire deck, we can update them! The files will be updated once they’ve been finalized for print.
The text for the book is being finalized! From there, we’ll have a better idea of what the production timeline will look like for them.
Production Updates
There's only a few new updates for this week!
- The release on Roll20 is now slated for August.
- Deck box designs are still in progress and we’re aiming to send them into print within the next week or so.
- For the status of other rewards that haven’t changed since our last update, you can revisit it here!
Minor Arcana Designs
Hit Point Press endeavors to create accessories and a community that is safe and supportive for people of all identities and backgrounds and we’re grateful for every single one of our backers working with us to achieve that goal.
We have received some feedback requesting changes and using language that is at odds with our goal of a safe and supportive community, especially for BIPOC members of our community.
We’re incredibly proud of the final designs of the tarot, and especially proud of the artists and animators who worked so hard to bring this interpretation of the Rider Waite deck to life. The people depicted in the animations are representative of our real life community and their inclusion in the deck was and is an intentional celebration of BIPOC that Hit Point Press unequivocally stands by.

Digital Tarot Release, Production Updates + Pallet Shipping

Happy Tuesday, backers!
Here’s a quick update with a few more details from our last post.
Tarot Updates
Minor Arcana has been released through BackerKit! ALL digital tarot rewards should be distributed by now. 🎉
Where can I access the download files on BackerKit?
Log into BackerKit and locate our campaign on your page. After clicking it, you’ll be shown a green button that says Digital Downloads.
If you’re still unable to access the files, double-check you don’t fall under these two common reasons people run into trouble.
- You didn’t create a BackerKit account. Create one at backerkit.com using the email address you pledged with on Kickstarter (this is very important!). Once the account is created, locate our campaign on your page. After clicking it, you’ll be shown a green button that says Digital Downloads.
- You pledged using an Apple ID. This is an easy fix! Please reach out to the support team with your name and the email address you’d like associated with your BackerKit. We’ll get it updated for you!
Still no luck? Reach out to the support team at [email protected] and they’ll take a closer look at your pledge!
The physical tarot deck, the tarot booklet, and reading mats are still being finalized and being prepped for production.
New Production Updates
The binders have been sent to production! Though we don’t have a timeframe just yet, the whole order will take roughly a month to produce. From there, we’ll be provided with a shipping estimate on when we can expect them to reach our warehouse.

Pallet Shipping
Due to the nature of the shipping method, if you picked pallet shipping in your survey you will not have received any rewards regardless of what’s currently available to ship in our warehouse.
We are unable to build the pallets until all rewards are in the warehouse and they will be shipped to the distributors closer to the end of fulfillment. As indicated in an earlier update, we are no longer able to make changes to opt into or out of pallet shipping for eligible backers.
Please note that pallet shipping was only an option for UK, EU and AUS backers. If your delivery address is located elsewhere and you chose this option, it may result in delays in shipping out your rewards.
If you are not located in an eligible country for pallet shipping but selected the option in your survey, please follow the steps below to help us get this resolved for you:
- Double-check your survey to make sure you clicked “Skip” for the second question. You can click here to locate your survey.
- Once you've confirmed you chose the pallet option, reach out to us! Send us a message at [email protected] so we can make the necessary adjustments. Please note that if your rewards are in-warehouse, they will be included in the next batch of packages to ship out.

Rewards Progress Break Down

Here are the most recent estimates on production for rewards. Buckle in! This is a bit of a long one!
Decks
Digital Release:
Aside from the Tarot deck, all PDF/GIFs have been released through BackerKit! You get an email when they go out or when there are updates to the email address associated with your Kickstarter pledge.
We expect to distribute digital Tarot rewards by the end of next week. As for the long-awaited Roll20 integration, we expect its release sometime in July! The tokens are in the process of being finalized.

Physical Release:
- Level decks: Restock of Cantrips-Level 5 and The Deck of Many Animated Things are en route and expected to arrive at the warehouse in July. If your pledge includes a mix of old and new level decks, they will ship all together after this shipment arrives.
If you only have decks from the last campaign (0-5 and Animated Things) OR new decks, your rewards have already been filled!*
- Spellcraft deck: This deck is en route with the restock of the earlier decks. We expect to see them in July!
- Conditions, Townsfolk and Illusions decks: They are in production! Because of their treacherous journey through customs, we expect them to arrive in August. I wonder what condition they’ll be in? 👀 (Anyone else have money on Exhaustion?)
- Tarot: The physical tarot deck is being prepared for production! Once the animations are finalized and in the hands of the manufacturers, we’ll have a better idea of when they’ll reach us to share with you all.
*Exceptions: rewards to be included on the pallet, backers who chose the pin as their exclusive, backers who have additional physical rewards in their pledge that have not arrived in the warehouse yet.
Remaining Physical Rewards
At this time, none of the remaining rewards have entered production just yet, but here’s their progress:
- Spellshaping art book: early design in progress
- Tarot book: writing being finalized
- Tarot booklet: design in progress
- Deck boxes: design in progress
- Spell binders: being prepared for production
- Kickstarter Exclusive Magician Pin: en route to the warehouse
- Deluxe Tarot pins: en route to the warehouse
- Tarot reading mats: pre-production
- Spell Slots: in production, manufacturers making adjustments
Quick reminder about pallet shipping: if you chose to ship your rewards on the pallet we are unable to change your shipping method at this time as surveys are locked and the deadline has passed.

Thank you all for your positive and kind words as we get through the final legs of production. We know it’s been a long journey but we’re all so glad you’re a part of it with us!

Tarot Animations are complete! Come take a look :D

Hey backers!
Before we get started, we want to acknowledge the frustration surrounding the campaign and its delays.
When the team determined the original production timelines and fulfillment estimates for this project, we didn’t accurately take into account the length, toll and impact the pandemic would have not only on the campaign, but on the wellbeing of our freelancers and team members and how that may impact distribution of rewards. Along with expected project delays, this miscalculation has put us behind schedule.
We would like to apologize for not meeting the original expectations we set for the decks and other rewards included in this campaign. We absolutely get the frustration and disappointment from the delays and are incredibly appreciative of the patience and understanding you’ve extended to the team behind the project.
The team is currently in the process of laying out a master timeline for all rewards and add-ons to share with you in the coming weeks. With a more realistic timeline, we aim to get you the most accurate production information possible so you can plan for and anticipate your rewards along with us!
To increase our accountability to you, we are planning on going from a monthly update to a biweekly update so you can see on a more regular basis how the development is coming along. Next update will be on the 25th of May and then every two weeks on Tuesday.
In the meantime, here’s what you can expect in the near future.

The animations are finally complete! We would like to express our thanks to the animators (Kami Areopagita, Kevin Areopagita and Liam Gregg) for doing an amazing job and finishing off such a technically complex deck.

A mismatched tarot deck made up of 133-cards from other decks, old and new alike.
The Alleyman's Tarot is a 137 card, mismatched tarot deck. An artifact from the real world, it was made with the kindness of many other artists, part made up of cards licensed from other, real-world tarot decks, part made up of cards I or other artists made for the deck, and part made up of standalone cards from older tarot decks, now public domain. This deck comes with a special guide made specific for the deck, written by the Alleyman himself, explaining the intricacies of the deck and the purpose of its many cards.
The Alleyman's will only ever have a single printing, so now is the time to get your copy. A wonderful display deck, certainly, but also the most unique deck to use in your divinatory practice as well.
